How to Use a Claw Clip: 5 Easy Hairstyles
By Knorbis Team · · Updated

Five claw clip hairstyles that take under a minute, from the classic French twist to a comfortable bun under a hijab.
A claw clip (also called a jaw clip or hair clamp) is the quickest way to put your hair up. Here are five styles you can do in under a minute.
1. The French twist
- Gather all your hair at the nape of your neck.
- Twist it upwards in one direction.
- Clip across the twist with a rectangle clip held horizontally.
A tortoise shell rectangle clip makes this look polished for the office.
2. The low bun
Twist your hair, fold the end back up and clip over the fold. Best with a large claw clip for thick hair.
3. Half-up, half-down
Take the top section from temple to temple, twist it once and clip at the crown. Smaller clips work well here.
4. A comfortable bun under a hijab
Twist hair into a low bun and secure it with a large matte clip with smooth teeth. It adds shape under the scarf without pressure points.
5. The sporty twist
For the gym or a run along the Dubai Marina walk, twist a high ponytail flat against your head and clip vertically. Add a few mini clips at the sides to hold short layers.
Tips for thin hair
If clips slide out of your hair, use a double-row claw clip. The two rows of teeth grip fine hair much better.
